Two charged after drug raid on Hagerstown,MD
Jessica Marie Benner, 25, of South Mulberry Street, and Qualin Javon Benjamin, 28, of Frederick, are also facing charges of possession with intent to distribute narcotics, possession with intent to distribute MDMA, possession of marijuana and maintaining a common nuisance for the distribution of drugs.
The residence in the 300 block of South Mulberry had been under surveillance for drug activity, and Hagerstown police executed a search warrant Thursday shortly after 11 p.m.
Police found four Mason jars of suspected marijuana, 16 grams of suspected cocaine, 17 grams of suspected fentanyl, and miscellaneous pills.
Officers also found 131 rounds of 9 mm ammunition and 13 rounds of .40-caliber ammunition.
Under Maryland law, 5 or more grams of fentanyl is considered a large amount of the drug with stricter penalties for possession if a person is convicted.
Benjamin also is prohibited from possessing ammunition as a result of a 2016 drug-trafficking conviction in Frederick County.
Benner and Benjamin are scheduled for bond hearings Monday.
