Man Shot Dead By Police After Pointing Assault Rifle - Florida FULL VIDEO

DELTONA, Florida – A man was shot and killed Tuesday afternoon after pointing an assault rifle at deputies in Deltona.

37-year-old Gregory Howe was pulled over for a traffic violation. When asked about his suspended license, he took off and refused to stop.

Volusia deputies said they chased the driver and used several spike strips during the pursuit.

The chase became a slow-speed pursuit with the man driving on his rims when he arrived at his home in Deltona.

Several deputies surrounded his vehicle once he pulled into his driveway and the man pointed what looked like an AK-style assault rifle out the driver’s window, investigators said.

Deputies are now looking into Howe’s recent past which include two police investigations connected to a recent shooting, Volusia County Sheriff Mike Chitwood said.

On May 1st, Howe was found with two loaded firearms in his car, one of which may be connected to an Orange City shooting from April 27, when a woman was shot in the chest in Orange City.
