Frederick County Public School Extends Virtual Learning Through January

On Wednesday, members of the board discussed two motions to begin hybrid learning that would include younger students returning to school. The first motion voted was to start pre-kindergarten through second grade to return to in-school instruction. That motion failed in a 4-3 vote.
The second motion was for students heading back into the classroom to solely pre-kindergarten and kindergarten students. The motion failed in a 5-2 vote. Brad Young and member Michael Bunitsky voted in favor. A majority of members cited safety concerns surrounding the coronavirus.
Frederick County Public School will continue its virtual learning model throughout the first semester.
