Baltimore City is the first to receive 5G from Verizon
It's official Baltimore city is the first to receive 5G from Verizon high-speed wireless network. Making it the first city that have 5G in Maryland
"This marks a huge leap forward in this new era of technology and innovation. Baltimore continues to be at the forefront of providing technology that residents will benefit from now and in the future," Mayor Jack Young said.
The 5G provides faster internet and wireless speeds that enhances download speeds.
Several schools, including the Baltimore Design School and Holabird Elementary School, will receive a four-year data plan and devices to take advantage of the new network.
