A draft guide as to how public schools will look in the fall was released by Montgomery County Public Schools
Return of Students:
The 2020-2021 school year is set to begin virtually on Monday, August 31 for all students.
Students will eventually return on a rotational schedule for in-person learning with reduced class sizes and reduced numbers of students in schools.
MCPS says the goal is for all grade levels to be in a school rotation by the end of November.
Students will return to the classroom by grade level, last name/address, and cluster in phases over the first four months of the school years.
Phases are expected to last two to four weeks depending on school level and grade/age.
Phase 1:
Pre-kindergarten, kindergarten, and students in specific Special Education Programs.
Grade 6 and students in specific Special Education Programs.
Grade 9 and students in specific Special Education Programs
Phase 2:
Grades 1 and 2
Grade 7
Grade 9 and students specific Special Education Programs.
Phase 3:
Grades 3 through 5
Grade 8
Grades 11 and 12
