A Dead body was located in the Potomac River in the Dickerson area

A body was found in the Potomac River Monday afternoon just south of White’s Ferry.

Pete Piringer says boats were deployed to rescue someone reported to be in the river near Harrison Island, just south of White’s Ferry in Maryland and just east of Leesburg, Va.

MCDP received a call around 2:30 p.m. Monday, the caller was in the Red Rock area near the southern part of the island.

Montgomery County police wrote on Twitter that they are conducting a death investigation.

Loudoun County, Va., authorities are assisting Montgomery County police.
