2 confirmed cases of the UK variant of COVID19 in Anne Arundel County
Gov. Larry Hogan Confirms there are two confirmed cases of the UK variant of #COVID19. Both cases are in Anne Arundel County.
On Tuesday afternoon Maryland Gov Larry Hogan announce that the state has two people from Anne Arundel County who have tested positive for a COVID variant. They recently traveled abroad and have been in isolation. the couple has two children who have not been tested but are quarantining with their parents.
The cases were first uncovered by a private lab, which confirmed the discovery with the state public health lab and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control Prevention.
"I know that we are testing at five times the national average for this UK variant so we may have found it faster than other people but I think it's everywhere across the country," Hogan said.
They are the first in Maryland to test positive for the UK variant.
